Vitamin Injection
A $40 shot for people who run low on vitamin D: you’re indoors most of the day, you’ve had a low result before, or pills don’t absorb well for you. For many people a daily D3 pill works too, and we’ll tell you if that’s you.
How It Works
Low vitamin D is common, especially outside summer, and vitamin D plays a role in immune function, bone health and mood. A shot gives you a concentrated dose that skips digestion.
Not sure if you’re low? A blood test from your primary care doctor is the most precise way to know, and we’re glad to talk through your results with you.
Is This Right for Me?
Low sun exposure is one of the most common causes of low vitamin D.
A direct way to help bring your levels back up.
Vitamin D plays a role in calcium absorption and bone density.
Absorption problems or past bariatric surgery can make pills less reliable.
Pricing
Correcting a vitamin D deficiency is well supported by research, with real benefits for bone health and immune function. If your levels are already adequate, extra benefit is less certain. A blood test is the most precise way to know where you stand.

What to Expect
We go over your health history, any recent labs, and what else you take.
A small needle in the arm or hip. Over in seconds.
About five minutes total. Add B12 or vitamin C in the same stop if you like.
A blood test from your primary care doctor is the most precise way to know. We’re glad to talk through your results with you.
Less often than the other shots. Your body stores vitamin D, so we space doses out based on your levels and the season.
Yes, easy to add to an IV, another shot, or any other visit.
Expect a sore or slightly red spot where the needle went in, for a day or two. Vitamin D is fat-soluble, so your body stores it, and too much over time can raise your calcium. That’s why we space doses out and ask what else you take.
If your blood calcium runs high, or you already take a high-dose vitamin D supplement, this shot isn’t for you. If your levels are normal, you likely won’t feel a difference. Pregnant or nursing? Tell us at check-in so we can talk it through together.
For most people, a daily D3 pill works fine and costs a few dollars a month. The shot earns its place for absorption problems, post-bariatric clients, or anyone who won’t remember a daily pill and would rather handle it in a few visits a year.
