We apply a numbing cream first, and the filler itself contains lidocaine. Most clients describe pressure and a quick pinch rather than real pain. Lips are sensitive, so we go slowly.

We build shape before volume, start conservative, and check the mirror with you as we go.

For the first 24–48 hours, skip strenuous exercise, alcohol, and pressure on your lips, including straws and kissing. Ice helps. Swelling peaks in the first day or two and mostly settles within a few days. Judge your result at two weeks.

It can, usually from overfilling or repeated large volumes over time. Conservative amounts and careful placement are the best prevention. We use Juvéderm, a hyaluronic acid filler, so it can be dissolved if anything needs correcting.

Bruising, swelling, and tenderness are common and pass within days. Small lumps or unevenness are uncommon, and we can usually smooth or dissolve them. The rare serious risk is filler blocking a blood vessel. Warning signs include severe or worsening pain, skin that turns pale or dusky, or any change in your vision. A lip flip uses a few units of neurotoxin to relax the upper lip so it rolls slightly outward. It’s subtle, cheaper, and shorter-lived. Filler adds real volume and shape. Some clients do both. If you’re unsure, book a free consult and we’ll sort it out together.
