01 · What It Is

Hyaluronic acid, placed with restraint.

Dermal filler is a hyaluronic acid gel, a substance your body already makes, injected to restore or add volume. At Refine Redding we use it in three places: the lips, for softness and shape; the cheeks, to restore midface volume lost to age or weight change; and the lines around your mouth.

We favor a natural result over a dramatic one. You’ll see results right away, swelling settles over the following days, and filler usually lasts 6–18 months depending on the area and your body.

Where We Use It

Three areas, three different goals.

Tap through for pricing and FAQs on each.

Lip Filler

Adds volume and softness to your lips while keeping their shape. A common starting point if you’re new to filler.

Cheek Filler

Restores midface volume lost to age or weight change, for a less tired look without changing your overall shape.

Lines Around the Mouth

Softens the fine lines above your lip and the creases at the corners of your mouth, the ones your lipstick bleeds into.

Good to Know

Nicole uses Juvéderm, a hyaluronic acid filler. It’s one of the most studied cosmetic injectables. We start conservative and build gradually, because adding more at a follow-up is easier than softening a look you didn’t want.

Please wait on filler if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active cold sore or skin infection where we’d inject, have a bleeding disorder, or are allergic to lidocaine. We screen for these at your consult.

What to Expect

From first question to final result.

I

Consult & plan

We talk through your goals, look at your anatomy together, and agree on a plan before anything happens.

II

The treatment

Numbing cream if you want it, and most fillers contain lidocaine. We build slowly, and you approve each step as we go.

III

Aftercare & follow-up

You leave with aftercare instructions. Swelling settles over the next few days. Questions later? Call or text (530) 201-2665.

Dermal Filler FAQs

Trying to decide between lips and cheeks? Text us or call (530) 201-2665.

How long does filler last?

Typically 6–18 months, depending on the area treated and how your body metabolizes it. Lips tend to soften a bit faster than cheeks.

Does it hurt?

Most fillers include a numbing agent in the product itself, and we can apply topical numbing beforehand too. Most clients describe pressure more than sharp pain.

Is there downtime?

Minimal. Some swelling or light bruising is common for a few days, and most people go right back to their normal routine.

How do I decide between lip and cheek filler?

It depends on your goal. Lip filler adds volume and shape to the lips, and cheek filler restores volume through the midface. Many clients start with one and add the other later. A free consult is a good place to sort it out.

Is Botox a filler?

No. Botox relaxes the muscles that crease your skin when you make expressions, and filler adds volume where it’s been lost. Lines from movement call for neurotoxin. Hollowness or lost structure calls for filler.

Is filler safe?

Bruising and swelling are common and pass. Lumps or unevenness are uncommon and fixable. The rare serious risk is filler entering a blood vessel, which is why injector training and anatomy knowledge matter so much. We go over the warning signs with every client, and we don’t take shortcuts on placement.

Can filler be dissolved?

Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler dissolves with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. That safety net makes HA filler the right starting point for most people.

Do you treat under-eyes, nose, or jawline?

Not right now. We focus on lips and cheeks. If another area matters most to you, tell us at your consult and we’ll point you in the right direction.
