How It Works

Prompting your own body to do the work.

Sermorelin is a growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analog. Instead of replacing growth hormone, it signals your pituitary gland to make more of its own. Sermorelin was once FDA-approved (as Geref) but is no longer commercially made; today it's only available compounded, which isn't FDA-approved.

It's typically given as a self-administered injection, most often at bedtime, since natural GH release peaks during sleep.

Is This Right for Me?

Sermorelin suits people focused on sleep and recovery.

01

You're interested in supporting your body's own GH production

Sermorelin works with your pituitary gland rather than replacing hormone directly.

02

You're focused on recovery and sleep quality

GH release is tied to deep sleep, and many clients use this at bedtime.

03

You want a peptide with a longer track record

Sermorelin went through FDA approval once, which is more history than most peptides on our menu have.

04

You're comfortable with a compounded preparation

Today it's only available compounded. Read the FDA status note below before you order.

Sermorelin FAQs

Still curious about Sermorelin? Text us at (530) 201-2665.

Is Sermorelin FDA-approved?

Sermorelin was once FDA-approved (as Geref) but is no longer commercially made; today it's only available compounded, which isn't FDA-approved. Status as of October 2026. We update this page when that changes.

How is it different from taking growth hormone directly?

Sermorelin prompts your own pituitary gland to make more GH. Growth hormone injections supply the hormone itself. With Sermorelin, your body's normal feedback controls stay in play.

When should I take it?

Most commonly at bedtime, since your body's natural GH release peaks during deep sleep.

Is it safe?

The most common side effects are redness, swelling or soreness where you inject. Some people get flushing, a headache, nausea or dizziness. Sermorelin has a longer track record than most peptides on our menu. We go over your health history before you start.

Who shouldn't take Sermorelin?

Skip it if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, since there's no safety data for either. Skip it if you have active cancer or are in cancer treatment, since growth hormone signals can encourage cell growth. If you compete in a drug-tested sport, Sermorelin is on the World Anti-Doping Agency's banned list.

Does insurance cover it?

No. Compounded peptides aren't billed through insurance. You'll know the exact monthly cost before you commit.
